Vacancy – Project Coordinator Holland Pavilion @ Taichung World Flora Expo
Summary
The Netherlands Trade and Investment Office (NTIO) has a vacancy for a Project Coordinator (13 months). Reporting to the Deputy Head of the Economic Department, his/her task will be to part of the NTIO team in charge of the Holland Pavilion at the 2018 Taichung World Flora Expo. The project consists of a preparatory period (1 March – 31 October 2018) and the actual expo period (1 November 2018 – 30 April 2019). He/she is expected to be a university graduate with solid experience in event management. We are looking for a team player with strong social and communicative skills, and who aims to be part of a dynamic, open and multicultural working environment.

B. Job description:
As part of the project team responsible for preparation and for on-site coordination and supervision during the expo period. Close cooperation with deputy head of economic department and with the agricultural officer at NTIO.
Two main tasks:

Preparation:

Manage and control project budget, project deadlines and timeline for design en construction of the pavilion.

Act as main local contact window for NTIO in Taichung: coordination with architect/construction company, expo organizers, city government, sponsors and other third parties.

Organize cooperation with building material providers.

On-site coordination during the expo period:
-
Local supervision: pavilion maintenance by architect, and organizing additional maintenance.

Leading and managing pavilion staffing (students) during the expo.

Supervision dismantling by architect/contractor.

Support organization of pavilion activity program (e.g. Holland Day)

C. Knowledge & Skill Requirements

Univeristy graduate

Experience in project/event management.

Native Chinese speaker (Mandarin and Taiwanese), good command of English

E. Work environment:
The project coordinator will be part of the Economic Department of NTIO and report to the Deputy Head of the Economic Department. He/she will be working in the Taichung area, in the preparatory phase at home or own office, and during the expo period at the pavilion on site. He/she will be required to travel frequently to meet with the NTIO project team (Taipei) or visiting project partners.
About 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition:
Taichung will be hosting the Taichung World Flora Exposition from November 3rd 2018 until April 24th 2019. The exposition is expecting 8 million visitors during the six month period. The Netherlands and the City of Almere will participate with a Holland Pavilion and part of the World Garden area of the exposition.

The Netherlands Trade and Investment office (NTIO) is the formal representation of the government of the Netherlands in Taiwan. Its mission is to promote and support cooperation between Taiwanese and Dutch institutions and companies in the field of commerce, investment, science & technology, culture, and education. The NTIO also facilitates exchanges in public governance best-practices between the Netherlands and Taiwan. In addition, the NTIO handles visa applications and consular matters for Taiwanese, Dutch and third-country nationals.
